Terriffic Tuesday

Todays tip still concerns crimp beads. A little trick that I use to lock in my ends so they don't come apart is this: I use 2 crimp beads with one swarovski crysl bead between the them. You then thread your stringing wire back through all 3 pieces and crimp. Virtually locks in your ends so they will not come apart!!!

This particular pictures shows where I used 2 crimps and 1 sterling silver bead to lock it in.

Festival Tips and Photos

Here are some photo from a Fesitval I did this weekend and wanted to share some creative ideas for setting an eye catching and inexpensive booth. I bought and entire bolt of sheer material for hardly nothing and used it as a drape for the front of my booth, gives it a totally different look. I also have old cabinet doors with hooks drilled in them for my earring displays and the other things I got at Hobby Lobby at 50% to 75% off. When they aren't being used at Arts and Crafts Fairs, they are decorating my Dining Room!!!

3 Tips a Week

I think 3 tips a week is about all I am going to be able to keep up with now. Also wanted to invite any of you jewelry designers to please jump in and add your tips and tricks here anytime at all. I would love to find out jewelers who would like to be interviewed and featured here on my blog. I don't have many followers at this time but am willing to work hard at it. Let me know through my comments here if you are interested in being a featured seller and being interviewed. Would love to chat with you.

Here is one of the necklaces I just created using the findings out of my shop!!!

Tuesday's Tip

Today's jewelry tip involves crimp beads. I absolutely only recommend using sterling silver crimps beads, the silver plated crimp beads will just split apart within just a few weeks of using them. I do believe that using a crimping tool is the best way to fold your crimp bead. When you just flatten them, that gives an opportunity for your wire or cord to slip out, using the crimp tool, folds the crimp back over itself assuring a tight secure hold. Which is after all, what you want on every piece of jewelry that you design.

See You tommorrow!!

Monday's Jewelry Tip and Idea

Starting today I am going to focus on a tip or an idea of the day. Using the findings from my shop, I will give you a picture of something that you can make with those findings and then just a few more ideas of things to make. So here we go with the first of what I hope will be a successful blog.

Today we feature earrings created with 14mm Red Czech Firepolished Crystals, with 4 Leaf Silvertone Beadcaps and Czech Firepolished Rondelles. Notice that I have mixed silver and gunmetal gray just for that doubletake look you want.

This is one pair of earrings where I just didn't feel the need to stack bead caps, but you can for a more dramatic effect. You can also create this same piece and use as a pendant on a chain and have a 3 piece set. Good Luck, please don't hesitate to convo me from my store if you have any questions.
